THE CURRY PROJECT

How long will Pistons fans have to suffer this time, before Joe Dumars admits his mistakes. The Curry Project is, has been and will continue to be an abysmal failure. Anyone with an I.Q. above 50 or that of Tanya Harding, Ron Artest and George W. Bush combined, knows the reason Dumars even hired Puppet Boy was to have control of the team without having to pull an Isiah Thomas a Pat Riley or a Kevin McHale. I get it, it's fun to be the Puppet Master. And although I was against the move, I understood the concept and hoped for the best. Now I'm fed up! Enough is enough! Puppet Boy's getting out coached at every outing. Joe D.'s way to intelligent not to see this. It's about pride and maybe a small sense of loyalty. I don't care! He will never have the respect of the players as the head coach. It's not because he's unproven, it's because he's a push over.

Since the Larry Brown debacle I've been preaching the obvious fact, we need a head coach that has fire and back bone. That has an intimidating personality and will get in the face of any player in the league regardless of who, what, were, when or why. A leader, that has been there as a player. A teacher of fundamentals and preacher of defense. A powerful presence on the side line that will fire his team up during a game. And most importantly, a coach that will get the job done without the need of front office interference. A guy with Passion. A guy in-which whom Bill Davidson respects. A guy Joe D. can trust. A guy with a vested interest in the Detroit Pistons. A guy like Bill Laimbeer.

I think Dumars needs to cut the cord with P.B.  I think he should convince Mr. Davidson to let Laimbeer out of his contract as the head coach of the Shock and offer him one as the head coach of the Pistons.  I think they should bring in Rick Mahorn and Lindsey Hunter as assistants.  And I think he should do it now, before any permanent damage is done.

What do you think?

  1. I couldn't agree more with more with you. As a resident of MI, I do watch the Pistons and want to see them win. The coach of the team has been the point of concern ever since Joe D has taken power.  I have thought  Laimbeer was a good choice before Flip and there is no better time than now before the ship sinks. The team has tremendous talent and it must not go to waste. Good Post.
