Final Score: 113 - 86.
Sheed wasn't kidding when he said that the Pistons are ready to step their game up. If the Pistons continue to play like they did Wednesday night, there is great hope for them in the playoffs. THIS is the team I know and love. I've been waiting for this and I know all you other fans have too. I knew it was going to be a good game after watching the first 2 minutes. Yes, 10 points within the first 2 minutes. They brought their A-game and the Knicks weren't ready for it. Richard "Rip" Hamilton (#32) scored the most points, 22 points to be exact, and had the most assists for the team. Of course, the rest of the team contributed to this victory. Each player was a prominent player this game and were all looking for a win. This is the chemistry the Pistons have been searching for all season. It's crunch time and the Pistons are finally ready to play. After this game, the Pistons are now No. 7 in the East, right next to the Chicago Bulls.
If for some reason the Pistons can't secure the No. 7 spot and god-forbid get the No. 8 spot, they would most likely be up against the Cleveland Cavaliers. For some reason, this is supposed to be threatening. Oh, "King James" and his team. Frankly, I don't see the threat. Yes, the Cavaliers may be one of the best teams in the NBA and LeBron James is often compared to NBA legends and MVPs, but is that enough? The Washington Wizards, a team struggling way more than the Pistons are, lost to the Cavaliers tonight by a mere 12 points. The Cavaliers have actually lost to the Wizards twice this season. Interesting. The Wizards have 18 wins and 61 losses. It's quite pitiful I must say, but hey, 2 of those wins were to the Cavaliers. And yes, I was watching both games at once.
Rip may have had his doubt about the Pistons bringing their team back together, but he definitely proved himself wrong tonight. This win against the Knicks gives us Pistons fans and the team the extra push we needed to get excited for the playoffs. We're one win away from securing a spot in the playoffs, so get excited!
